Welcome to The Cubs! We are a 2-Year-Old nursery, who welcome children aged between 2 and 3 years old. We are a child- led provision who will nurture, play, talk and listen to your children to help them learn. We pride ourselves on getting your children ready for their 3rd birthday, when they will then progress to The Panda’s Nursery. We do this through the characteristics of learning and concentrate on the 3 prime areas of; communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development.

Our year looks like this;

Autumn – What can you see?
Spring 1 – Transport
Spring 2 –  Nursery Rhymes
Summer 1– Animals
Summer 2 – Lets go outside!!

Covering a number of topics exposes the children to a specific and wider range of vocabulary which is crucial to children’s development.

There are lots of activities that you can do with your children at home to help them to learn. This doesn’t need to be in English – talking in home language is important! Here a few ideas:

• Reading a story
• Singing nursery rhymes
• Doing a jigsaw together
• Baking
• Talking to your child about what you can see when you are out and about.
