Year 4
Welcome to Year 4!
If you are a Y4 pupil, we are so glad that you are in our amazing year group, and can’t wait to start learning together! If you are a parent, please know that every day your child comes to school we will nurture and cherish them so that they feel part of our Whiteways family.
In year 4 your child will build on the skills that they developed in year 3, with some exciting new topics.
This Years Topics
Over the year we try to answer three main research questions linked to the three areas of topic. These are:
Autumn: What can we learn from the past? (Romans)
Spring: What makes out world special? (Spain)
Summer: We are scientists!
Extra Information
In Autumn we focus on the Romans, and how they became a mighty empire that ruled most of the known world. Then in Spring, we will be learning all about Spain by looking at its geographical features and famous artists. Finally, in the Summer term we become scientists and investigate sound and electricity.
Please help us get your children fully immersed in our topics by completing the home learning tasks together. As well as our topic homework, we will send home weekly reading and spellings. Most importantly, have fun and get your children talking about their learning.
