The Acorns

The KS1 nurture unit, also known as The Acorns is a full time group primarily for up to 10 key stage one children that usually attend for 2 – 4 terms. The Acorns has been carefully designed to build a bridge between home and school. It provides a warm, welcoming, homely environment that is structured, predictable and a place to feel safe for children.

We ensure that our day provides numerous opportunities for the children to experience success whilst developing life skills. The children also spend some time in their mainstream class each week. This provides an opportunity for them to maintain relationships with their peers and practice the skills that they are learning in a whole class setting.

Our aim is to enable children to build the skills that they need in order to be the best that they can be as they progress on their journey through school.
